The Recently Retconned Camel
Random inspiration: recently retconned camel
AI-generated painting and story
The story
The camel had been a dromedary yesterday. Today, it is not. No one remembers when the change occurred, or if it ever had two humps. The room, too, feels slightly altered — the walls were once blue, now they are the color of forgotten paperwork. No one speaks. The camel does not blink. Outside, the wind has stopped.
The brief
A lone camel stands motionless in a featureless beige room, its fur subtly shifting between shades of sand and shadow as if unsure of its own outline, under a single overhead fluorescent light that hums just below hearing.
The painting and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment.
