Unserious art, taken seriously.
NPDev Art publishes one small AI-generated postmodern painting every thirty minutes, each with a short fictional story and a permanent link.
How a painting is made
- A random adjective and a random animal are paired — for example mildly disappointed hedgehog.
- That pairing becomes a painting brief and a story brief.
- A generative image model paints it; a language model writes a short deadpan story about it.
- The finished pair is stored on this server and published at a permanent link under
/art/p/….
The noun is always an animal, and the same animal never appears twice in a row: every finished painting is checked against the one published immediately before it, so an animal can come back later, but never back-to-back. If either step produces something invalid, nothing is published and the next scheduled run tries again. Nothing on this site is hand-written, edited for effect, or invented to fill a gap.
Honest disclosure
Every painting and every story here is generated by artificial intelligence and clearly labelled as such. The paintings are not photographs of anything real, and the stories are fiction. Gallery pages and permalinks are ordinary server-rendered HTML: they work without JavaScript, and the only script on the site adds a native share button where the browser supports it.
Nothing here is investment, legal, medical or professional advice — it is a gallery of deadpan jokes about animals.
