The Recently Laminated Lizard
Random inspiration: recently laminated lizard
AI-generated painting and story
The story
The lizard had been sunbathing on the windowsill when the laminate sheet, left over from a failed craft project, drifted down through an open window and settled over it like a second skin. No one noticed until Tuesday, when Marge reached for the coffee mug and froze, convinced the lizard was judging her life choices. It wasn’t. It was just laminated. She left it there. It still is.
The brief
A small, glossy green lizard lies flat on a white kitchen countertop, its body perfectly preserved under a clear sheet of laminate, one tiny claw curled slightly upward as if caught mid-scramble, under the harsh, even glow of a fluorescent ceiling light that casts no shadows and makes the plastic look wet.
The painting and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment.
