The Recently Laminated Bonobo
Random inspiration: recently laminated bonobo
AI-generated painting and story
The story
The procedure was optional but recommended. Now the bonobo cannot move his fingers or blink fully. He watches the receptionist eat a sandwich through the thick plastic. He wonders if the laminate will peel in the summer. He does not ask for water because his lips are sealed to his teeth. The receptionist wipes a smudge from his forehead with a cloth. It does not help. The bonobo remains perfectly preserved, waiting for the appointment to end so he can return to the cage where the air is not trapped.
The brief
A bonobo sits in a chair, completely covered in clear laminate. The room is beige with white walls. Fluorescent light reflects off the plastic surface. Colors are muted greys, browns, and a sharp shine.
The painting and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment.
