The Legally Distinct Clownfish
Random inspiration: legally distinct clownfish
AI-generated painting and story
The story
The clownfish had been told it was legally distinct, though no one explained from what. It spent its days testing the boundaries of its tank, nudging the silicone seal with its nose, waiting for a sign that the distinction had taken effect. The light hummed. The water stayed still. Outside, a child tapped the glass once, then walked away.
The brief
A single clownfish floats motionless in a small, empty aquarium under harsh fluorescent light, its orange and white stripes slightly blurred by water distortion, facing the glass with one fin pressed gently against it as if listening.
The painting and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment.
