Random inspiration: legally distinct caterpillar
AI-generated painting and story
The story
Arthur had been waiting for his performance review for three weeks. He spent his days eating the margins of legal documents and avoiding the foot traffic of the accounting department. Today, the manager finally arrived, holding a clipboard and a look of profound confusion. They sat in silence for ten minutes while Arthur chewed slowly on a paperclip. The manager sighed, checked a box labeled 'Sufficient,' and left without saying a word. Arthur returned to his desk and resumed eating the carpet.
The brief
A lime-green caterpillar with a small corporate ID badge rests on a beige office desk beneath a single fluorescent tube. The room is sterile, painted in off-white, with a grey telephone and a stack of manila folders visible in the dim light.
The painting and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment.
