The Late-capitalist Pitta
Random inspiration: late-capitalist pitta
AI-generated painting and story
The story
The pitta had been promoted three times last quarter, though it still couldn’t explain what Q3 synergies meant. It sat waiting for the performance review that never came, the red button pulsing in rhythm with its heartbeat. Outside, the city hummed with invisible algorithms. Inside, the air smelled of recycled toner and quiet resignation. It blinked once. The button did not respond.
The brief
A single late-capitalist pitta bird perches upright on a chrome stool in a featureless white office, its feathers subtly iridescent with fading corporate logos, one claw resting on a blinking red button labeled 'QUARTERLY', under flat fluorescent light that casts no shadow.
The painting and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment.
