The Deeply Municipal Mink
Random inspiration: deeply municipal mink

The story
The mink had been promoted three weeks ago after correctly filing Form 7B in triplicate. It still wasn’t sure why it was chosen, but the badge said 'Junior Liaison' and the clipboard felt important. Every morning it arrived at 8:15, stood exactly where the tile pattern aligned, and waited for someone to ask it a question. No one ever did. It adjusted its blazer, sighed internally, and waited again.
The brief
A single mink stands upright on its hind legs in a stark municipal office hallway, wearing a tiny ill-fitting blazer and holding a clipboard, under the harsh glow of fluorescent lights reflecting off beige walls and a faded 'Permits' sign.
The painting and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment.
