The Bewildered Gopher
Random inspiration: bewildered gopher
AI-generated painting and story
The story
The gopher had been following the scent of roasted peanuts through a ventilation shaft when it emerged into the attic, bewildered by the absence of both peanuts and any logical explanation for the miniature compass nailed to a beam pointing steadily toward a wall painted entirely beige. It tilted its head, paused, then began to dig.
The brief
A small brown gopher stands upright on its hind legs in a dimly lit, cluttered attic filled with forgotten trunks, dusty jars, and a single swinging light bulb casting a pale yellow glow over scattered nuts and a half-open map.
The painting and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment.
