The Bewildered Centipede
Random inspiration: bewildered centipede
AI-generated painting and story
The story
The centipede had been contemplating the nature of left versus right for seventeen minutes when it realized it had forgotten which end was which. It did not panic. It simply waited, hoping the teacup might offer a clue. The bulb flickered once. The centipede did not move. It wondered if the floor was judging it.
The brief
A single centipede stands motionless on a beige linoleum floor in a dimly lit kitchen, its many legs slightly splayed as if caught mid-thought, under the pale glow of a bare bulb casting long, soft shadows across faded yellow walls and a half-empty teacup on the counter.
The painting and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment.
