The story
The pardalote waited for its guest to arrive. It offered tea with a fixed, intense smile. The guest hesitated, sensing the pressure in the bird's courtesy. The pardalote tilted its head and insisted on the biscuits. It would not take no for an answer, though it said please every time.
The brief
A small pardalote stands on a mahogany table in a cream-colored room, holding a silver tray with a teacup. Soft grey light filters through a window, illuminating pale blue walls and a patterned rug.
The painting and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment.
