When Mochi Meets Moonlight
Romcom
Original characters: Hana Tsukino and Kaito Fujimura
AI-generated anime picture and story
The story
Hana had spent all afternoon trying to make perfect mochi for the school festival, but hers kept coming out lopsided—just like her nerves whenever Kaito walked by. Today, she finally worked up the courage to bring him one, hoping he wouldn’t laugh. When he took it, his eyes widened—not at the shape, but at the tiny heart she’d pressed into the side with her thumb. ‘It’s… perfect,’ he said, voice soft. ‘Because it’s yours.’ Hana’s face burned brighter than the lanterns. She hadn’t expected him to notice the heart—or that he’d been bringing her extra senbei every morning, hoping she’d like them. Under the blooming sakura, two clumsy hearts finally found their rhythm, one imperfect bite at a time.
The picture brief
Under a soft pink twilight sky, Hana Tsukino, with her wind-tousled lavender hair and a shy smile, offers a slightly lopsided homemade mochi to Kaito Fujimura, who stands barefoot on a wooden veranda, his glasses slightly askew and his hands fumbling with a tea cup, cherry blossoms drifting lazily around them as warm lantern light glows from within the traditional tea house behind.
The picture and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment. The genre is the one this 45-minute slot rotates to, not a choice made afterwards.
