The story
Liri Mosswick had never baked with moonberries before, but tonight the harvest moon called for it. She pressed the pulpy, luminous fruit into the dough, whispering an old lullaby her grandmother taught her — the one about bread that dreams. As the loaf took shape, tiny sparks flickered in the crust like captured starlight. Old Man Bramble, her mentor and the town’s last moonbaker, nodded slowly, his eyes crinkling. 'You’ve got the touch,' he murmured. Just then, the first chime of the cathedral bell rang out, and the loaf began to hum — softly, sweetly — as if it, too, was ready to rise.
The picture brief
Under a silver full moon, Liri Mosswick kneels on a cobblestone bakery step, flour-dusted hands shaping glowing moonberry dough into a crescent loaf, while Old Man Bramble watches with a warm smile from the open shop door, lantern light spilling onto ivy-wrapped stone walls and sleepy rooftops bathed in cool blue and soft gold.
The picture and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment. The genre is the one this 45-minute slot rotates to, not a choice made afterwards.
