The story
Liora had spent three days chasing the whispering wind that carried the scent of burnt honey and old lullabies. When she finally found the bridge where the sky touched the earth, Pip — who had been following her since she dropped his favorite acorn cookie — nudged her hand toward the lantern. It wasn’t magic she’d summoned; it was memory. The lantern was her grandmother’s, lost years ago in a storm. As Pip chirped, the lantern blinked once — softly, like a heartbeat — and the clouds above parted just enough to reveal a single, smiling star. Liora laughed, tears warm on her cheeks, and whispered, ‘You remembered how to find home.’
The picture brief
Liora Windpage, a young woman in a patchwork robe stitched with constellations, kneels on a mossy stone bridge overlooking a valley where cotton-candy clouds drift lazily below, one paw of Pip the sky-squirrel resting on her shoulder as he chatters excitedly at a floating lantern shaped like a sleeping dragon, golden afternoon light gilding the mist and turning the river below into liquid amber.
The picture and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment. The genre is the one this 45-minute slot rotates to, not a choice made afterwards.
