The story
Lumi had spent three nights chasing whispers through the Library of Forgotten Hours, where books remember dreams and time sticks like honey. Her clockwork cat, Tick, purred steam as its tiny gears aligned with the book’s pulse — a lullaby written by a moon princess who’d lost her voice. As Lumi’s fingers brushed the cover, the pages fluttered open not to words, but to a memory: her grandmother’s laugh, echoing from a balcony long gone. Tick nuzzled her cheek, its brass tail curling like a question mark. Outside, the moon smiled. Inside, the library breathed. And for the first time in years, Lumi didn’t feel alone — just wonderfully, quietly found.
The picture brief
Lumi Kaito, a young girl with silver-streaked hair and a clockwork cat perched on her shoulder, reaches toward a floating book glowing with soft blue light in the ancient, vine-covered library where moonlight streams through shattered stained glass, casting jewel-toned patterns across floating dust motes and towering shelves that hum with quiet magic.
The picture and the story were written from this same scene, so the two describe one moment. The genre is the one this 45-minute slot rotates to, not a choice made afterwards.
