NPDev Trends · What a country is searching for, explained from its coverage

Trending searches, explained from their coverage

What people are searching for, and what the coverage actually says

A handful of the searches trending across the configured countries, each with a short explainer written from the headline metadata the publishers' feeds carry — attributed, labelled headline-only, and never padded with facts nobody supplied.

Where this comes from

One row per configured country. A country whose last read failed is shown as failed for that country only; the others are unaffected.

What is stored, and what is not

This service stores the search term, the publisher's approximate interest label, when the term was first and last seen, the country it trended in, and the related headline titles with their publishers and links. It does not copy article text and does not fetch articles. Explanations are written from that stored metadata only, so the coverage is labelled headline-only on every page.
